“Eating IN is the new eating OUT” our friend said couple of days ago, but we have known that for years.
We really like and enjoy to cook and eat at home. We just love everything we make, well except the times when the food is too salty, burned, lumpy, too watery, too thick…you get the picture 🙂 We are not perfect but we learn from every experience.
Maiu (made in Estonia) is allergic to quite a lot of foods. It’s very stressful to go and order in some restaurant when you have allergies. You have to make sure that there isn’t anything that can cause you an allergic reaction. You really need to trust people that you just met! The two biggest ones are bell peppers and honey. Yes, you probably haven’t met anybody with a honey allergy, but we have it, no honey here (unfortunately). The smaller allergies are for beans, cabbage, tomato, corn, rye, orange, chocolate, garlic, shell fish, cucumber, honey, kiwi and lemon. Also we eat lactose free in our household.
From August 12, 2015 we eat gluten and egg free, also pea, mussel, yeast, wheat, cola nut, squash, cashew, pistacio, malt yuka, ginkgo, aloe vera, agar agar and fig free. This is the list that I got from my food intolerance test. There are special times when I break my gluten and egg rule, like on Xmas and Valentine’s Day, possibly my birthday and when we travel. But I most definitely paying for it by bloating, tummy – and headaches. Why you ask? Because it is worth eating like a normal person for few times per year!
Rob is not allergic to anything, even to the food that doesn’t turn out perfect, but even then he praises the foods and says what a good chef his wife is. That is a talent for sure 🙂
Our recipes are easy. Nice home cooked meals and everyone can do it! Nothing difficult, because cooking should be fun and easy!
