Cream Cheese Danishes

My diet is done for now, only lasted for 6 days but I am happy it lasted even that long 🙂 I am going to continue to limit myself and not over eat but sometimes you just can´t deny yourself delicious yummy foods. Right?

This morning I woke up and I wanted something good for breakfast. And I decided to make danishes, I have never made them before, so I was very interested. I saw the recipe on FB the other day and I was very intrigued.

I kind of cheated and did not make my own dough, Pillsbury kind of helped me out with the crescent roll dough. Amen to that because it made my life a lot easier. Eventually I would like to make my own dough as well.

Oh boy and did they ever come out delicious.

For 5 danishes:

1 CRESCENT ROLL TUBE
1/2 PACKAGE OF PHILLY CREAM CHEESE (SOFTENED)
1/2 CUP POWDERED SUGAR
1 TEASPOON PURE VANILLA EXTRACT
2 TSP BUTTER (FULLY MELTED)
1 TSP BROWN SUGAR

*I used the entire package of cream cheese and used the leftovers for just simple little cheesecakes

GLAZE:
1/2 CUP POWDERED SUGAR
1 TEASPOON PURE VANILLA EXTRACT
4 TEASPOONS OF MILK

  1. Mix Cream Cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  2. Open your crescent roll tube but don´t unroll it, use a sharp knife to cut 5 equal pieces of dough
  3. Use your fingers to make a round shape and put it on a non stick baking sheet (or on a parchment paper). Push the middle of the dough down with a coffee mug or a measuring cup to create a small wall to hold the cream cheese filling
  4.  Melt the butter with brown sugar and brush the little dough cups with the mixture
  5. Add the cream cheese to the cups and BAKE at 350 F for 16-18 minutes
  6. Make glaze – mix all the ingredients together and stir until smooth
  7. Let cool and drizzle with glaze

The little cheesecakes: Just put the cream cheese mixture into the muffin tins and bake for 20-25 minutes.
