Broccoli – potato pizza crust

I guess I felt a little adventurous after making the cauliflower pizza crust and I wanted to do something different 🙂 So I tried to think of what kind of crust I can make that is not as popular as the cauliflower one, and that is kinda original. This is what I came up with – Broccoli – potato pizza crust! It was a great experiment. I had no idea what to expect but I know that I love both broccoli and potatoes. What can go wrong, right?

Basically, the same ingredients, but I substituted cauliflower with broccoli and potato.

IMG_0750Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

SERVES: 4-8 people, depending on the pcs size

PREP+COOKING TIME: 20 min + 40 min +10 min

1 head broccoli, stalk removed, shredded

3 medium potatoes, shredded

¼ cup grated mozzarella

¼ cup grated Parmesan

½ tsp onion salt

2 eggs, lightly beaten

plus your desired toppings and cheese!

Wash your broccoli and cut into florets. Pulse in a food processor until fine. Peel potatoes, shred in a food processor.

IMG_0703IMG_0705In a bowl, combine shredded broccoli and potato with mozzarella, Parmesan, onion salt and eggs. Line a pizza pan with parchment paper and spread the potato broccoli mix. It looks a little watery but in the end it will look great and it will become pretty firm!

IMG_0709Bake for 40 minutes or until lightly brown and looks like a firm crust. Add whatever toppings you’d like and bake for another 10 minutes. Like always we made two sides 🙂

IMG_0721IMG_0740 I have to tell you right now that it was terrific! Awesome! The best pizza crust ever. Sometimes experiments work out 🙂 We both liked it more than the cauliflower crust.
