Good old banana bread

I would like to believe this is the very low calorie banana bread. Since I’m not doing as much exercise as I used to, I’m trying to make it up with low calorie foods, lately it has not been a success 🙂 But I’m trying. Really hard!

I think we have more sweets in the pantry, freezer and fridge that we have had for years. I don’t know how that works 🙂

RSP_30201 1/2 cup all purpose flour

3/4 white sugar

1 1/4 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp

2 egg whites

1 frozen banana

3/4 shredded apple

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8×4 inch loaf pan.

Shred the apple or use apple sauce. Mash the frozen banana when it’s melted. I always use a frozen banana but it’s also up to you if you want to use a non frozen one.

RSP_2958In a large bowl, stir together all dry ingredients  flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon.Mix thoroughly.

RSP_2967Add egg whites, bananas and shredded apples; stir just until combined. Pour batter into prepared pan. It looked like oatmeal 🙂

RSP_2974Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of loaf comes out clean.

RSP_3002Mine was done in 55 minutes! I think it’s the nicest looking banana bread that I have ever made 🙂 Serve your banana bread with nutella, peanut butter, ice-cream or with whatever you desire.
