Rob loves bacon and Rob loves corn. So here came my idea – I´ll wrap the corn cob with bacon. Ok, ok, not my idea 100 % 🙂 I actually saw it in the grocery store the other day and I knew Rob would love it. Me, myself, I have never really understood the idea of eating the corn from the cob – it´s so very messy – everything gets stuck in your teeth, the juices coming down your fingers and allover not a good pleasant experience. I prefer my corn from the can anytime…or so I thought!
I bought the corn that was already cleaned and ready to go. Also a 1 pound of bacon.
Pre-heat oven to 400 F
Prepping is very easy of course, even for a first timer like I am. I only did 3 because I wasn’t sure how is this gonna turn out 🙂
3 corn cubs
butter
salt, pepper, or your favourite seasoning
6-8 bacon strips
First butter your corn cob, add salt, pepper or your choice of seasoning and wrap bacon around the corn cobs and place in a non-greased dish/baking pan. I used 3 slices for 1 cob. Since I’m not a huge fan of bacon I used 2 slices for mine, you can tell from the picture that the cob in the right side is mine 🙂
Wrap all of it with foil paper and put it in the oven for 30 minutes, then remove foil paper and cook for another 15-20 minutes until bacon is nice and “crispy”.
It was delicious, for me to say that – very big deal. It made a big difference to just cut the corn off the cub. That’s what I did.
And I was very happy! I know no longer think that the corn from the can is better 🙂
