Korean Barbeque ribs

Recently I made a blogger friend and I started to follow/read her/their blog 😉 It´s about a jet-setting, food loving, photo-taking couple who currently lives in South Korea. And yes I copied that from their page 🙂

I have never even thought about making anything Korean BUT now I had inspiration for doing so and I asked my new friend for help 😉

I decided to make Korean BBQ Ribs in slow cooker. I love slow cooker, it makes the most amazing food! And let me tell you a secret, it was the first time for me to use sesame oil and I absolutely fell in love with it.  ribsHere is what you need:

ingredients2 pounds of ribs

1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup pear puree *I used canned pears
3 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
2-3 cloves garlic, crushed
5-6 chives
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Dash of freshly ground black pepper

Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker. I used Magic Bullet to puree the canned pears and I used dried chives. I know these were not the right pears but was good enough for me!

Cut the ribs into separate ribs and add them to the marinade. Stir the mixture over the ribs using your fingers to make sure they are coated.

ribs-marinadeLet it cook in the slow cooker on high for 3 hours until the meat starts to fall off the ribs.

These ribs were so awesome and so easy to make! Loved them! You should try it too! You will love them!
